Benton Park West, Missouri

The Benton Park West neighborhood is the classic example of the domino affect of rehabbing in the City of St. Louis..  The example is the spreading of the results of rehabbing from Lafayette Square, south to the Fox neighborhood, across Gravois to Benton Park, south the Benton Park East, and now across Jefferson to Benton Park West.  This is one that is definitely in transition that will be anchored by a new development facing Jefferson and on the north by Arsenal St.  The development will be called "Fleur-de-Lis."

Driving through the 6x12-block area of Benton Park West, one can see the dramatic differences in architectural style and building sizes from block to block.  Styles vary from the large two and four family buildings in the "South St. Louis" style to single family Queen Anne, French Second Century, and even single story bungalows.  Many of the buildings are a mix of style and floor plans. 

There is a very active neighborhood association which is spearheading the redevelopment.  This is an historic neighborhood that is in transition and offers excellent home values.
