The Hills in St. Louis, Missouri

Whether you are a St. Louisiana native or a visitor from another city, there is one neighborhood that is everybody's destination and that is - "The Hill." Of course, that is assuming that you enjoy Italian food. Yes, there are many Italian restaurants throughout the greater St. Louis area, but there is only one Hill that has so many fine restaurants ranging from the casual to the elegant and with price ranges across the spectrum. One thing is certain, and that is, you will not leave hungry.
The Hill's location is south of Highway 44 to Southwest, west of Kingshighway, and east of Hampton. Of course, many other fine restaurants are located on the fringes.
The Hill has been the neighborhood created by Italian immigrants and is known for its splendid churches, wonderful schools, outstanding restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, small grocery stores, and other retail catering to its clientele. Once a neighborhood of small houses that were well maintained; now, some of these homes are being torn down and replaced by much larger upscale homes. Where once there was an exodus of the younger Italian children leaving to live in the suburbs, now there is a revival of the area with the return of families re-establishing their roots. Having lived or now living on the Hill is definitely a badge of honor. Giovanni's
